CHAPTER 2.COMPOSITION AND FUNCTION OF CHAINLESS SYSTEM
This chainless system is differentiated with the other systems by having operational functions of controller which is divided into knit mode and repair mode.
repair mode has five functions as the following menu.
l. Pattern input mode
2. Chain input mode
3. Test mode
4. Production capacity set mode
5. Change Position mode
6. ROSSO set mode
1. COMPOSITION OF SYSTEM
This system composed of C.P.U., display (screen) and keyboard.
(l) C.P.U. : The most important part in chainless and controls almost all of the function (2) Display (LCD) : As a graphic LCD, this shows functions in graphic mode for the
convenience of users.
(3) Key board : Selecting functions and inputting data.
2. COMPOSITION AND FUNCTION
A. KEYBOARD
¡´figure 2-1 Keyboard¡µ
(1) Numerics (O-9) : Used for selection of functions or input numbers
(2) Quick, High, Mid, Low key to setting knitting speed for each position
These are the keys for selecting the speed of inverter.
(3) Drum : This key operates air solenoid for drum(drum rotate or not).
(4) Down Needle (D.N.) : This key makes the needles to come down at heel & toe part.
This enables the speed to be constant because it knits
without the movement of drum.
*** option : need air solenoid
(5) SDC : Key for making pattern in the sole part of a sock.
When it is "ON" no pattern will show in the sole
part.
<3>
(6) ¡æ, ¡ç, ¡è, ¡é : These are cursor key and used for selecting any data.
(7) SET : This key is for inputting data.
Input for chain, pattern and data.
(8) ESC : This key is for finishing any current job and makes for back to previous job
(9) MODE : Used only for changing mode from "KNITTING" to "repair" when you want
(10) DEL : This key is for deleting (erasing) data in the "KNITTING" mode, it
deletes production Q'ty and in the "repair" mode it delate the data of
chain or set the default value.
(11) SEN OFF : This is the key which is blocking the operating of cycle sensor so that it
prevent from count downing the current step
(l2) TEST : This is the key for test or reading default data of each position and chain.
B
(13) Q'RTN : This key works as a quick return key in the "KNITTING" mode, and
L/STEP fixing the last step in "CHAIN INPUT" mode( in new ver. this
function not used)
(14) ¡é /CNT : This key decreases count l by 1 in "RUNNING" status
B. FUNCTION OF S/W
(1) MOTOR : This S/W makes the main power for INVERTER to be ON and OFF.
(2) SPEED : This key runs machine at a specific speed without relationship to the
speed fixed by chain input data.
When this S/W is OFF, the machine will run at low speed.
(3) C. END : This S/W will stop the M/C at the blind revolution after knitting a
socks.
(4) COMPUTER : This makes power of the controller to be on.
(5) JOG : This S/W runs machine at jog speed.
when you push this S/W when M/C is running, M/C will stop and only run
when the S/W is being pushed.
(6) START : This S/W start to run the machine
(7) STOP : This S/W stops the machine.

<4>
(l) NAME : This will show the name of pattern maximum 8 characters can be shown.
In alternate knit mode, name will be shown by turn.
(2) MODE : This will show the current knit mode, and when "I" is shown, the first
pattern will be knitted.
When "II" is shown, the second pattern will be knitted.
And when "I II" are shown on the screen, the alternate knit mode is effective and
the inversed is the pattern being knitted.
Name of pattern will be shown in the name column on the mode.
(3) PLANNED Q'TY : This is where you can set the needed production Q'ty and will
be displayed when you set production Q'ty in No. 4 production
Q'ty set mode in the repair mode.
(4) PRODUCTION Q'TY : This shown the current production Q'ty and can be erased
by pushing "DEL" key in knitting mode.
(5) POSITION : This show the current knitting position and blind revolution, nylon, rubber,
idling double welt, ankle, heel , sole and toe will be shown by turn.
(6) NEEDLE : This shown the needle count
(7)X, Y :X shows the current needle position counting from 2F, Y shows the
courses knitted.
Nylon, Rubber and pattern part will be counted as courses (Double welt,
heel and toe parts are excluded in this calculation of courses).
(8) RPM : This shows the current running speed of machine.
(9) MODE : This shows the mode of chain and 4 different sizes can be stored.
(lO) STEP : This is the step of chain and steps are from l to 50( old ver): l to 100 in
new ver.
(11) SIZE : This is the number of chain and l means 4 revolutions of machine cylinder.
(12) OUTPUT : This shows the current output and output has 4 kinds of forms as follows.
¨ç SPEED : Four levels as quick, high, middle & low.
¨è DRUM : This executes the movement of pushing drum by teeth of gear.
When a sock is knitted, this enables machine to be ready to execute the
next movement.
¨é DN : This makes needles to come down in heel and toe part.
(DP/ST, With this function, speed in heel and toe part can be constant
DP/SP) without change.
¨ê SOLE(SDC) : This is the function of making pattern in the sole part of a sock,
When this signal is on, pattern in the sole parts are not knitted.
(13) SENSOR
Sensor is working at every four revolutions of machine and the number will be
decreased by one when sensing.
If there is any error in sensor, "CYCLE SENSOR ERROR !!!" will be displayed on
the lower part of LCD.
(l4) END
END means the end of drum, in other words, this is the finish of knitting a sock.
"END SW ERROR !!!" will be displayed on LCD when END S/W is not "OFF" at the
first position of drum, or END S/W is not "ON" at the last position of drum.
Error will happen when the timing between machine and chainless system dose not
match or when the END S/W itself if defected.
<5>
"ESC" key will erase the error message and makes it return to the first step of sock.
(15) Q'RTN
This means quick return to the first step.
(16) SENSOR PASS. ( S. OFF )
This will ignore the function of sensing at every four revolutions and will enable
knitting without limit.
